Essi is a London based Cinematographer. She's been working in the industry for over ten years, first as a Camera Assistant in her home country Finland and from 2019 on as a Cinematographer.
Essi graduated from the National Film and Television School with an MA in Cinematography in 2024.
Essi has shot a number of short films and documentaries, many of which are currently experiencing successful runs on the festival circuit.
One of the films Essi worked on titled 'milk', was nominated for a BAFTA.
Essi's passion for her craft is evident in her work and she thrives in collaborative environments working alongside both larger and smaller crews.
Essi is always trying to find new ways to improve her cinematography and she loves experimenting with new styles and techniques. Essi's strengths are her creativity, professionalism, experience in the industry and her determined mindset and solution-based attitude.
Essi just finished shooting Truckload, a Primetime x Jodie Whittaker funded short film produced by Arpita Ashok and Victoria Emslie, directed by Aella Jordan-Edge and written by Evie Jones.
